The 13th TOPS Chengdu Pet Show, which lasted for 4 days, came to a successful conclusion on September 21st, attracting more than 110,000 visitors. Among them, professional visitors increased by 22% year-on-year, and consumer visitors increased by 36% year-on-year, creating a wave of love for pets.
At the same time, the 2025 "It" Economy New Era Pet Economy Forum (hereinafter referred to as the " Forum") was also held in Chengdu. The Forum, with the theme of "Decoding the New Power of Consumption and Brand Evolutionary Power", explored in depth the new opportunities and new models for the high-quality development of the pet economy, and helped the industry achieve a strategic leap from scale expansion to value enhancement.

The "2025 China Pet Industry White Paper" shows that in 2024, the number of pet cats and dogs in China exceeded 124 million, and the urban dog and cat consumption market size reached 300.2 billion yuan. The "post-90s" and "post-00s" are the main force of pet ownership, accounting for more than 60%. Most pet owners regard pets as family members and friends, and get emotional value from them.
At the same time, the concept of pet consumption is evolving from "keeping pets" to "raising pets", and new service-oriented consumption tracks such as healthy pet food, emotional satisfaction, personalized experience, and medical care are driving the industry to develop in a more professional, refined, and diversified direction.
Tan Rui, deputy secretary of the Party branch of the Sichuan Pet Association, said at the forum that the "it economy" is becoming a new driving force to activate consumer potential with an irresistible momentum, and is also the core force to force the industry to reconstruct and evolve brands.
Specifically in the pet food industry, You Lei, general manager of "Care Good Owner" under Tongwei Group, a Fortune Global 500 company, stated that in the face of a "leap" in pet food demand, safety is an unshakable bottom line, nutrition is the foundation for growth, and health is the core throughout. "Care Good Owner" focuses on the Z-generation's exclusive tribe, proposing the concept of "balanced nutrition without burden". With its grain-free, low-allergen, and high-digestibility products, it serves thousands of pet-owning families and has been awarded the "2025 Annual Pet Brand Innovation Case" at this forum.
Faced with the current contradictions in the industry, such as "high demand, low trust", Wang Lei, the executive vice president and secretary general of the Guangdong Provincial Pet Industry Association, suggested that all sectors of society should jointly build a professional and vocational talent ladder to provide sufficient vitality to serve consumers.
At the forum, the "Pet Consumer Trust Alliance for 2025", initiated by the Pet Industry Associations of the two provinces of Sichuan and Guangdong, Chengdu Good Owner Pet Food Co., Ltd., and media representatives, was officially launched. The alliance has committed to adhering to the ethical bottom line of animal welfare, improving product quality and service standards, protecting consumers' legitimate rights and interests, and promoting industry innovation and sustainable development.
